Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Adheres to relevant policies and ethics for clinical laboratory testing. Demonstrates an understanding of the underlying concepts and values of a service organization. Displays strong personal commitment to organizational success, inspiring others to commit to shared goals. Follows pre-established patient safety guidelines. Maintains cleanliness or sterilization of self and objects in order to prevent infections. Participates in collecting and processing specimens (e.g. blood) according to test requests.
Schedule Options(vary depending on department needs):
-Days (10 hour shifts, 4 weekdays each week, 7am-5:30pm, No weekends or holidays)
-PM Shifts (begin between 1:30pm and 3:30pm, 8 hours shifts, Every other or Every 4th weekend, 2 holidays/year, 5-6 On Call weekends per year)
-Night Shift (Hours from 11pm-7:30am, 2 holidays/year, 5-6 On Call Weekends per year)

Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
