Job Description

NOW HIRING Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative is seeking a full time Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager who is responsible for leading and managing the Cooperative’s purchasing and shipping and receiving departments providing quality materials and services for the operation of Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Job Duties 

• Manages requests for quotes on all material supplies and service orders for the Cooperative including the development of new supply sources and vendors, when required 

• Responsible for the negotiation of fuel and energy contracts including the forecast of potential future price increases/decreases and market trends 

• Responsible for development and monitoring of departmental budget plus providing cost information to other departments for budget and capital expenditure preparation and monitoring 

• Responsible for the receiving, delivery, and storage of supplies for the operations, maintenance, and engineering departments 

• Responsible for establishing and refreshing purchasing policies, processes and procedures, and monitoring adherence to those policies 

• Responsible for the hiring, training, reviewing, and replacement of Purchasing, Storeroom, and Inventory Control staff • Supervise the maintenance of vendor records including insurance certificates and safety requirements 

• Lead the efforts pertaining to continuous improvement in areas of purchasing and inventory controls Qualifications 

• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Administration Business, Supply Chain or equivalent 

• Eight (8) or more years of purchasing and inventory control supervision or management experience in a manufacturing environment 

• Strong technology skills 

• Significant experience in negotiating supplier contracts 

• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
